DESCRIPTION
The LP “Joker (OST),” released on WaterTower Music, presents Hildur Guðnadóttir’s film score as a compact collection of original compositions and is available in different vinyl variants, including a purple vinyl edition.
The sound is characterized by a consistent focus on the cello, which, as the central instrument, carries the melodic lines, complemented by dense string arrangements and textural soundscapes. The music often works with simple, repetitive themes that are driven to dramatic tension through orchestral layering and sound processing.
Hildur Guðnadóttir is credited as composer as well as performing cellist and vocalist; the album was co-produced by Hildur Guðnadóttir and S. Slater, with additional production by Gunnar Tynes and arrangements contributed by Þórarinn Guðnason. The score was performed by a large orchestral ensemble that is listed in detail in the credits. Mixing and mastering were handled by established studios, giving the recording both clarity and density.
The LP brings together seventeen pieces, including striking titles such as “Bathroom Dance” and “Call Me Joker,” which musically develop central motifs of the film narrative and mark the work as a through-composed score. For listeners and collectors, this edition offers a documented version of the film music on a physical medium
